The Tamburlaine to open in Cambridge

The Dublin-based O’Callaghan Hotel Group has announced the Tamburlaine in Cambridge, its first UK hotel.

Situated in close proximity to the city centre and named after a Christopher Marlowe play, the 155-key hotel will offer views across the city, three categories of spacious bedrooms, a double-height lobby and its own library. Set for a Spring 2017 opening, Tamburlaine also features communal spaces designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio.

Additional facilities will include a brasserie-style restaurant, cocktail bar, glass walled wine room, terraces, garden, five conference rooms, a gym and a café. The restaurant will serve an accessible menu of locally sourced, seasonal dishes in an informal environment with pendant lighting and relaxed leather banquettes. The horseshoe shaped cocktail bar will offer a refined list of classic cocktails from the hotel’s team of mixologists as well as small plates based on the restaurant menu.

Elsewhere, the garden room will be filled with foliage and decorated in a Colonial style. It will serve afternoon tea, champagne and cocktails. The deli will have a more modern feel, with vibrantly tiled floors and neon lighting, and will offer both take-away and eat-in options.
