Rubelli reveals new collection

The 2016/17 Dominique Kieffer by Rubelli fabric collection is inspired by the beauty and imperfection of the handmade. Creatively led by Paola Navone, the collection has been influenced by artisanal craft and intricate embroidery, and features 13 different designs.

Navone’s signature tones are evocative of the Mediterranean and feature a vibrant colour palette of petrol blue, grey blue, turquoise and teal, alongside the traditional Kieffer tones of neutrals and soft pinks.

Central to the collection, each fabric blends craftsmanship and textile history with design modernity. The resulting eclectic and unconventional collection reflects a handmade and laid-back feel, and channels visual characteristics including asymmetry, roughness and irregularity.

The Kusa design references the Japanese artist Kusami, known for a series of works and installations featuring irregular polka dots, whilst Woody resembles the patterns on the bark of a tree. Elsewhere, Outmap resembles a brick wall and Outwall draws its inspiration from a cityscape viewed from above.

The collection marks the first time that Navone has launched a range of fabrics suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and the collection will launch at Focus/16.
