The Lowell details renovations

Luxury New York hotel The Lowell has announced a series of updates and renovations to be completed by Q3.

Dina De Luca Chartouni, Co-Owner and Design Director has tasked Michael Smith with the redesign of The Lowell’s interiors, and architect Mark Pinney with updating the aesthetics of the public spaces.

Located on the Upper-East side, between Madison and Park Avenue, the property will add a new restaurant, bar, library lounge and garden, with additional renovations made to the lobby and Pembroke Room. Overseeing the refurbished hotel will be Heiko Kuenstle, who returns to The Lowell as General Manager after a ten-year hiatus.

Restaurateur Charles Masson and Chef Christian Delouvrier will create a unique dining experience at new restaurant Majorelle, the cornerstone of the renovation, serving up French-based cuisine with a Mediterranean influence in a thoughtful and detailed dining room.

The restaurant, bar, and lounge will have an adjoining garden area featuring a fireplace, fountain, and large glass skylight to create a year-round indoor and outdoor dining experience.

Kuenstle comments: “We have listened to our guests and assembled a distinguished team to realise their wish for spaces to relax and socialise, while maintaining the refined feel and character of our hidden gem.”

The renovated Lowell, which was established in 1927, will offer 24-hour room service, state-of-the-art technology, in-house fitness and business centres, spacious suites, luxurious terraces, kitchens and wood-burning fireplaces. Meanwhile, De Luca Chartouni brings her quintessential New York style and personal touches, including her exclusive line of bath and body products DDC28.

“We are continually innovating our design while staying true to who we are,” notes De Luca Chartouni. “The Lowell has a soul that is derived from a unique blend of elements including the timeless luxury of our rooms and suites, the talented and devoted staff, and our loyal guests who choose to make The Lowell their home in New York.”
