Doshi Levien designs Terrain for Kettal
Kettal has launched its first outdoor fabrics range, Terrain, designed by Doshi Levien.
The texture and tones of the ‘Terrain fabrics’ collection and subtle blend of colours in the ‘Terrain paints’ range reflect a panorama of natural landscapes, evoking a Mediterranean garden, crystal clear ocean and desert sunset.
The fabrics are available in a spectrum of 34 different colours and are designed to work in conjunction with outdoor materials such as marble, stone, wood and coated aluminium. With ‘Terrain paints’, Doshi Levien have also created a palette of 30 paint colours, which complement the fabrics.
Further, Kettal is set to celebrate 50 years in 2016. The company was started in 1966 by Manuel Alorda, and has been design and manufacturing outdoor furniture for the past five decades.
While Kettal’s predominate material source is aluminium, it employs a combination of skilled engineering and creativity to manufacture innovative pieces that contain a high level of aesthetics, while serving functionally.
In 1994, Kettal began working with renowned product designers, such as Oscar Tusquets. In more recent years, the in-house design team has collaborated with designers such as Jasper Morrison, Patricia Urquiola, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Doshi Levien, Hella Jongerius, and Rodolfo Dordoni.
