Luxury residences to open in Phuket
Luxury hospitality brand Anantara has opened its first branded residences in Thailand.
A new luxury villa development overlooking Layan Beach, The Residences by Anantara Phuket Layan are one of the final projects designed by the late Jaya Ibrahim of Jaya International. The designer curated a modern interpretation of the classic Asian space, bridging together the cultural world of Thailand with today’s modern luxury standards.
Located on the northwest coast of Phuket, the development features 15 distinct luxury villas, which feature between three and seven bedrooms. They range in size from 1,695m2 to 3,220m2, and each has a 21m infinity pool providing unobstructed views of the Andaman Sea.
All of the décor elements were specifically designed or handpicked by Ibrahim himself, and his design draws on the cultural and ecological context of the terrain to create a unique atmosphere. The resort is situated in the canopy of the surrounding rainforest, perched above a quiet beach, and the residences are positioned relative to each other and the terrain to maximise views. To blend the buildings with the surroundings, indigenous and natural materials were used, and the sense of place is enhanced with details such as natural instead of highly glossed finishes.
