Development plans for The Park Hotels

The Park Hotels has announced a new phase of growth and expansion, which includes plans for five new Zone properties.

Following the launch of the first Zone by The Park properties in Coimbatore in December 2015 and Jaipur in April 2015, the company has announced its plans to build five new properties in Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Jodhpur, Raipur and Goa. The design of each property is being overseen by London-based practice, Project Orange, working in conjunction with Priya Paul, Chairperson of The Park Hotels.

Also under way are two new luxury hotels: The Park Corbett and The Park Wayanad.

These two hotels will be added to The Park Collection brand, a group of one off boutique hotels in exciting destinations. The new hotels will be in areas of outstanding natural beauty and are due to open at the end of the year. Paul comments: “The majority of our hotels are in cities across India and it is exciting to grow the collection into more off-the-beaten-track leisure destinations. We expect to see significant demand for these hotels from international guests.”

The first of these hotels, The Park Corbett, located in the Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand, North India, will open in November 2015 and will have 40 rooms. It will be the first branded luxury hotel to open in the park, which is home to a spectacular array of wildlife, including the Bengal Tiger. It has expansive landscaped gardens and combines natural materials, including local stone with contemporary design. The hotel will offer excellent dining and services, including safaris run by the in-house naturalists.

The Park Wayanad in Northern Kerala is also set to open at the end of the year. The hotel will have around 25 cottages and villas and is located in the forested area of Wayanad that extends into the hills of the Western Ghats. The ambience here will be that of an eco-resort, with breathtaking views, again with Park Hotel’s exquisite design, dining and service culture.

Furthermore, Priya Paul has recently been named as one of the 12 global forebears of contemporary travel at LE Miami on 8th June 2015. Paul pioneered the luxury boutique scene in India and has continued to innovate with her inspirational approach to hospitality.
