Maison & Objet returns to Asia

Maison & Objet Asia returns to Singapore for its second edition from 10–13 March 2015. This year, the event will feature an expanded selection of high-end decoration by prestigious brands and designers in the interior design and decoration sectors.

The spirit and creativity of the established M&O Parisian event, as well as the inaugural Maison & Objet Asia, is set to continue in 2015 with the salon bringing together the arts of living, new trends and new sources of inspiration. Upcoming talents will be unveiled while the event aims to stimulate the market, promote creativity and provide a springboard for brand enhancement.

Reinforcing commitment to the region, a pre-show tour covered the cities of Jakarta, Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai and Beijing in order to source the latest Asian brands, while expanding the show’s reach.

“At Maison & Objet Asia, we are committed to being a unique platform that brings together a wide offering of brands together with a large diversity of visitors. These visitors range from retailers to buyers, from interior designers to architects, and from property developers to hotel and restaurant owners,” commented Philippe Brocart, managing director at Maison & Objet.

“In 2014, we had more than 13,700 visitors, with Asian visitors making up 51%. As for the total number of brands in 2014, we had 272 altogether, with 30% of them from Asia. We are working towards increasing both the number of exhibiting brands as well as visitors to the show. As at October 2014, more than 180 brands have signed up and we expect more to participate in the coming months leading up to the salon.”

2015 also marks an important milestone for the event, as it celebrated its 20th anniversary in Paris in January and will launch the first Maison & Objet Americas in Miami Beach, 12-15 May 2015.

Highlights for M&O Asia 2015 include the staples that make up the events distinctive traits such as the Interior Design and Lifestyle Summit, which will feature keynote addresses by industry personalities and presentations on market trends.

Keynote speakers include Maison & Objet Paris 2015 Designer of the Year Oki Sato for Nendo Studio and Maison & Objet Asia 2015 Designer of the Year Neri & Hu. Moderated by Guy Dittrich, Feeding the Imagination – Restaurant and Bar Design in Hotels in associated with Sleeper Magazine will also be a programme highlight.

With bar and restaurant design a specialist world and one of the most challenging areas in hotel design, it is particularly crucial in the Asia Pacific region, where hotel restaurants are seen as destinations in their own right. A panel of hospitality experts will share their insights including: Marc Dardenne, CEO at Patina Hotels & Resorts; Michael Goodman, Partner/Managing Director at EDG Interior Architecture and Design; Jean-Luc Fourrier, Founder & Director at JLF Associates and Ariane Steinbeck, Managing Director at Gettys.

Maison & Objet Asia will take place on 10-13 March 2015 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre and held as part of Singapore Design Week.
