Renovated Hilton Paris Opera opens
Hilton Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Hilton Paris Opera following the extensive $50m renovation of one of Paris’s most historic and glamorous grand hotels to unveil a chic and contemporary new look.
Located in the heart of the Right Bank’s Opera district, near the Champs-Elysées and Galeries Lafayette and Printemps Haussmann, the hotel was originally the vision of architect Juste Lisch and has undergone a refurbishment that returns it to its former glory in exquisite style.
The historical centrepiece of the hotel is the majestic Le Grand Salon which, along with 268 guestrooms and suites, several bars and restaurants, plus meeting and event space have all been transformed under the close supervision of acclaimed design firm Richmond International.
Simon Vincent, EVP and president, EMEA at Hilton Worldwide, commented: “France has the largest inbound tourism market in Europe, estimated to reach 100m by 2018, with Paris itself remaining one of the world’s great destinations. Hilton has a long history in the city and we are delighted to be bringing one of its most illustrious hotels back to life, following a stylish renovation that will ensure Hilton Paris Opera becomes a home for Parisians and international guests alike.”
Each part of Hilton Paris Opera has been carefully created in a sophisticated style, paying homage to the hotel’s history while providing an updated aesthetic for today’s traveller. Highlights include the elegantly appointed 900ft² Maria Callas Suite, the hotel’s master suite. Including a spacious living room with the high ceilings typical of a Parisian Haussmann building, the suite also features twin beds, both with private bathrooms designed with a large, polished stone vanity and spacious walk-in shower.
Hilton Paris Opera offers a selection of 29 other suites, some with private French balconies and access to the hotel’s Executive Lounge. The hotel also offers a state-of-the-art fitness centre plus six meeting rooms with natural daylight. The Baccarat ballroom, featuring vintage chandeliers from the famous crystal maker, has been refurbished to its former splendour and is able to accommodate various events, holding up to 180 guests.
Leading off the entrance lobby is Le Grand Salon, with 46-foot high ceilings and hand painted frescos it provides a sophisticated place for guests to mingle, connect and savour the Belle Epoque surroundings. Adjacent to the main hotel entrance is Le Petit Bar, offering a smaller, more intimate venue.
Rob Palleschi, global head, full service brands at Hilton Worldwide concluded: “After much anticipation we are ready to welcome guests to one of Paris’s landmark hotels, beautifully renovated to reclaim its place in this remarkable city. Hilton has hosted many of the world’s great events and occasions for nearly 100 years and we look forward to creating many more special memories for our guests at Hilton Paris Opera.”
