Adam Tihany collaborates with Four Seasons
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Adam D. Tihany have collaborated for the first time to design the newly unveiled Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.
The hotel features three venues designed by Tihany, who is known for creating luxurious hotel interiors and signature dining at some of most iconic properties around the globe, including Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, One & Only Cape Town, and Belmond Hotel Cipriani in Venice. Tihany has also created signature restaurants for acclaimed chefs such as Heston Blumenthal, Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, Charlie Palmer, Pierre Gagnaire and Jean-George Vongerichten.
Shahab Lutfi, CEO of H&H Investment and Development, comments: “In recent years, Dubai has witnessed the entry of a host of international restaurant brands in this sector, in addition to restaurants with celebrity chefs, making the market very competitive for five-star restaurants. By appointing an award-winning and world-renowned designer such as Adam D. Tihany to give his vision to the three signature restaurants at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, we are raising the bar even higher and ensuring that we offer something original, unique and distinctive to the region.”
Tihany adds: “With its sophisticated blend of regional and international influences, contemporary Dubai is the ideal setting for this project and these venues have been designed with that discerning audience in mind.”
Tihany conceived the all-day dining restaurant, Suq, as a family-friendly contemporary take on the versatile Arab food market. Guests have the opportunity to stroll and sample the variety of international cuisines, while dining below a gently vaulted ceiling that evokes the lively open-air market experience. Windows framed by light sheer fabric and wood panelled walls create a fresh and light ambiance. The outside terrace, with a mosaic-covered fountain at its centre, offers shade under orange and beige coloured umbrellas and a pergola.
Tihany drew inspiration for Sea Fu from its ocean front location. Sea Fu consists of outdoor and indoor seating and a bar area servicing the adjacent pool during the day. Each evening the restaurant transforms into an upscale fine-dining experience. A metal relief wall sculpture welcomes guests upon their arrival. The interior is thoroughly modern yet inviting with sleek, dark furnishings, tilted wood ceiling, wood floors, and a decorative patterned screen connecting the space to its alluring landscape. A central fabric chandelier glows above a display table and creates a warm and sophisticated ambiance. Outside, the bar emits a soothing evening glow and sits below a series of hand blown glass chandeliers. The intimate fireplace and lounge pit close to the sea shore offers a relaxing gathering space.
Mercury, slated to open in early 2015, is a dynamic rooftop bar and lounge with views of the urban skyline and sea. The central focal point of the venue will be the impressive Ice bar, designed by Tihany as a sphere sitting on a raised wave-like, mosaic finished platform. A secondary bar counter will also complement the service. The open terrace, enhanced by circled marble flooring with metal inlay and architectural photos, is defined by contemporary lounge areas.
