Having recently unveiled LUX* Tea Horse Road as the cornerstone of its expansion in China, LUX* Resorts & Hotels has announced the opening of boutique hotel LUX* Lijiang.

Located at the heart of the ancient town of Lijiang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, LUX* Lijang is sheltered by the traditional timber-frame structures of Naxi architecture, with rooms featuring luxurious and contemporary design, with views over courtyards and rooftops.

Heading the project in Yunnan province, LUX* Resorts & Hotels Regional Director, Dominik Ruhl, commented: “We are thrilled to pioneer the creation of what will be known as one of the world’s greatest journeys, starting right here at the heart of the ancient town of Lijiang.”

Inspired by age-old traditions, LUX*’s take on luxury sets the tone in the hotel. Fusion Naxi cuisine is on offer in the hotel restaurant, meanwhile the tea lounge offers regional Pu’er teas. A visit to the Cha Ma Dao Library allows guests to discover the Naxi culture.

The opening of LUX* Lijiang marks the start of a new circuit of distinctive stays, alongside LUX* Tea Horse Road, developed in partnership with Lijiang Yulong Tourism Corporation Limited.
