Yoo announces the first yoo2 hotel in Istanbul, Turkey

yoo2 is a departure from the traditions of its sister-brand yoo, who’s entire ethos is about creating extraordinary living spaces. The new brand positions itself as a playful and vibrant mix of creative design that is locally tuned for a global trendsetting crowd. Visitors who stay with yoo2 are fashion-conscious and lead the way in cultural change and creativity.

Commanding impressive views of the Bosphorus and directly positioned on the steps of leafy Gezi Park, the green lungs of the city’s Beyoglu district, yoo2 Taksim Square is the latest in a steady stream of cultural outposts surfacing in the Turkish capital. Just across the park from the hotel, guests will find Istanbul’s maze of bazaars and the more historic core of the city, alongside a hub of contemporary boutiques and nightlife. As with all yoo2 hotels, the selection of the neighbourhood as a prime destination for cultured travellers is very important, and yoo2 Taksim Square is very much a reflection of the surrounding area.

From the dramatic entrance lobby to the clever use of backdrops in the public spaces, carefully curated design and technology are combined with seamless guest service to offer a remarkable visitor-experience for guests staying in one of the 59 rooms and suites. Guest rooms include a Family Suite, Classic Double, Classic Twin, Park Superior, Corner Bosphorus or Bosphorus Deluxe Room.

As with each yoo2 hotel across the world, rooms at yoo2 Taksim Square are designed with fine fabrics and contemporary furniture, creating a comfortable, imaginative and vibrant environment from which to rest and refresh. Textile wallpaper in warm colours harmonises with heavy, lacquered furniture. Bathrooms are carefully laid out and equipped with custom fittings. Locally inspired details capture the spirit of Istanbul as a cultural hub, including glass separators engraved with historical scenes reminding guests of the colourful past of the neighbourhood and city.

In a nod to sustainability, recycled materials have been used throughout the hotel public areas and rooms, including walnut tree casings and natural stone floors.

The hotel restaurant is open all day and all night, serving locally sourced produce offering both traditional and modern Turkish menus as well as international dishes. Designed to feel welcoming at any point in the day, the combined restaurant-lounge-bar fits appropriately to Istanbul’s exciting food and drinks scene.

Marco Nijhof, CEO of yoo Hotels commented: “We are excited to launch the first yoo2 hotel in Istanbul, a vibrant city rich in culture and heritage. yoo2 Taksim Square appeals to those interested in both design and modern lifestyle, looking for a great stay and a sense of local culture, whether travelling for business or leisure.”
