Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam to open in Spring 2014

The fifth Waldorf Astoria property in Europe and the first in the Netherlands, Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will open its doors in Spring 2014. The new hotel is located on the famous Herengracht canal, built during the Golden Age. Steeped in history, the property boasts a historical exterior comprising six original patrician houses of the 17th and 18th century, and a unique entrance and grand staircase attributed to the architect of king-stadholder William III, Daniel Marot.

The 93-room property will offer a variety of luxurious, spacious guestrooms and suites overlooking the city’s canal or the tranquil courtyard garden. Immersed in character, the bedrooms feature exposed beams and large windows flooding bedrooms with natural light. All rooms feature modern amenities including expansive bathrooms and WiFi.

Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam will continue the Waldorf Astoria “Art of Dining” legacy, with a simple yet sophisticated food and drink concept. Guests will be able to savour light bites, afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks in the renowned Peacock Alley, or enjoy a nightcap at the converted underground Vault Bar. Guests will also enjoy the hotel’s elegant signature restaurant.

Ensuring guests enjoy an exceptional experience throughout their stay; the property will also offer a boutique spa, with a wide range of pampering spa treatments from a spa specialist brand, as well as an indoor swimming pool, contemporary indoor fitness centre and relaxation area overlooking the gardens.

A new conference and events space in Amsterdam, the property has a choice of seven flexible meeting rooms as well as the Grand Ballroom, featuring stunning canal views, making the hotel an ideal choice for a business meeting, social event or magical wedding.
