glh. launches Clermont brand

The introduction of the Clermont brand will see the London-based hotel subsidiary of GuocoLeisure Group regenerate one hotel, and take on two new management contracts in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

The first project will see the renovation of The Royal Horseguards in London, which will become Clermont London in 2014. The luxury five-star hotel, located on the North bank of the River Thames, will feature extensive refurbishment that will aim to bring to life its Victorian splendour.

With glh.’s ambition to launch Clermont hotels in the top 30 global cities in the next ten years, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore are logical locations for the succeeding two projects.

Clermont Singapore will form part of the mixed-use Tanjong Pagar Centre, a large-scale development by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. The development will feature luxury residential apartments alongside the new hotel, a grade A office block, premier retail space and a sheltered event area. In addition to the location’s notable 1.7 million square foot, the tower of Tanjong Pagar Centre will reach 290 metres, making it Singapores tallest building.

The residential component in Singapore, named Clermont Residential, will offer unparalleled sea and city views to approximately 200 apartments located from 180 metres to 290 metres above ground. It will also offer four private amenity decks, exclusive to residents.

These opulent homes will be marketed as private abodes at both the Singapore and Kuala Lumpur locations, where glh. aim to develop 370 apartments. Both will enjoy bespoke services delivered by the adjoining Clermont Hotel.

The residential towers at Damansara City, Kuala Lumpur will offer top-quality amenities such as an Olympic-length swimming pool, aqua gymnasium, function rooms and private dining rooms where residents will be able to host private events.

Speaking about the launch, Mike DeNorma, CEO of glh. says: “Clermont is a vibrant entrant to the global luxury hotel market and we are thrilled to announce today iconic new hotels and residences in a number of globally significant locations.”

The glh. global owner-operator strategy focuses on delivering the best guest-centred experience in the hospitality industry. The company will underpin this with the use of advanced customer facing technology, infrastructure and decision science.

Ed Harding, Brand CEO of Clermont Hotels concludes: “Clermont will set a new global standard for luxury hotels and each iconic property will deliver its luxury hotel experience with consistently warm and personalised service and seamless technology. Led by expert General Managers, the hotel staff will have a sophisticated understanding of their global guests and their business and leisure needs; sharing insider knowledge of local culture coupled with privileged access to the wonders and cultural richness of each destination”.
