HBA London reveals homage to Queen Elizabeth II

The suite at the InterContinental London Park Lane has been given the royal treatment by The Gallery. The new look is an homage to Queen Elizabeth II, who lived in a building on the site as a child.

Particularly inspired by Cecil Beaton’s photographs of The Queen as a young woman, the interior design blends art deco touches with a contemporary twist on opulence.

A subtle colour palette of platinum’s and creams is highlighted by accents of The Queen’s signature yellow. The motif of the classic loop-shaped clasp found on her iconic black handbag also features heavily, with drawer and door handles being forged into the shape.

The redesign was given the final touches with a commissioned art collection featuring paintings of Hyde Park, sketches of Her Majesty’s hats and signed giclée prints by Ann Carrington.

The project is one in a long list of recent high concept bespoke designs by The Gallery/HBA, including renovations of several Luxury Hotel Collection properties worldwide.
