Dorchester Collection to create luxury hotel at Coworth Park Estate
Pictured here is the site of The Dorchester Collection’s foray into the English countryside. Main site works will be commencing in mid February for the development of Coworth Park Estate into a luxury destination hotel on behalf of The Dorchester Collection. The scheme has been designed by EPR Architects Ltd with interior design by Fox Linton Associates, and spa design by Purcell Miller Tritton.
The estate comprises of Coworth House, dating back to 1776, and more recent stables, cottages and barn facilities located within 200 acres of land adjacent to Virginia Water in Sunningdale.
The development of the estate will create a 5 star resort with the refurbishment of Coworth House forming the centrepiece of the development. The house will contain a fine dining restaurant, bar and events room facilities.
The adjacent stables and cottages are to be converted into luxury guest suites and an existing barn into an exclusive restaurant. A new Spa building will also be set into the historical landscape.
Sustainable technologies will be utilised across the estate. A new energy centre will house a biomass boiler, wood chip fuel will be grown on site and a ground source heat pump will be installed. As part of these works, the historical landscape will be restored and enhanced to provide an appropriate setting for the development.
