Designed by Katerina Zachariades and the in-house Morgan design team, new additions to the contemporary Modena, Lucca and Soho collections were unveiled. A distinctive feature of the Modena modular sofa is its show wood base with uninterrupted flowing line that links the units and avoids double legs. The corner unit, new for Clerkenwell, further enhances this design detail and meets the current demand for modularity; the modular combinations are extensive and make an impactful yet graceful presence in any space. A new Modena compact lounge chair with simplified show wood base enhances the collection’s versatility, perfect for office breakout areas.

A key characteristic of the Lucca side chair is its fully upholstered seat with continuous piping detail; this accentuates the radiused profile and looks striking when upholstered in a contrasting fabric. Making its debut at Clerkenwell, a new lounge armchair harnesses this detail and accentuates it further by extending the piping along the line of the fully upholstered arms. A no-arm version is also available and both were shown on metal swivel bases. Already a popular choice for dining following its launch in 2012, Lucca is now also suitable for lounge, office and other soft seating environments. All versions feature the option of an elegant show wood base in addition to the swivel option.

With its chic appearance with echoes of Fifties and Sixties design and lots of added personality, the Soho collection has been popular since its launch in 2010.  Characterised by a visually inviting shape with softened corners, the sofa and lounge chair is perfect for modern receptions, lounge and office environments. New at Clerkenwell is a light armchair with a slimmer look and feel that further enhances the collection’s versatility. It was shown on the stand on a metal swivel base.

Morgan design and develop all their products in a low energy consuming factory, using materials from sustainable sources. The company is accredited by FISP (Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme) and was among the first in the industry to be awarded ISO14001. Morgan also forms part of a lean and environmental improvement ‘think tank’ with other British manufacturers.
