Mandarin Oriental opens new hotel in Guangzhou

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the opening of its first city hotel in China, the Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou.

Situated in a 358,000 square metre, mixed-use development, the hotel’s guest rooms are thought to be the largest in the city.
 
The décor of the property’s 233 spacious guestrooms, 30 suites and 24 serviced apartments was overseen by interior designer Tony Chi, who fused traditional elements of the orient with the modern identity of today’s China.
 
The hotel’s diverse dining options include the Jiang restaurant headed by notable Chinese chef Fei, a classic grill restaurant called Ebony, The Taikoo Lounge tea salon, The Mandarin Cake Shop and an exclusive cocktail destination, The Loft.
 
The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou offers city dwellers and visitors a rare opportunity for peace and tranquility. The Spa features nine private treatment rooms, including two couple’s suites and a VIP spa suite, as well as extensive heat and water facilities.
 
The Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou’s additional public areas include a nine-roomed spa, meetings and function facilities equipped with the latest technology and a 750 square metre ballroom.
 
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group now operates 45 hotels in 28 countries. In addition, the Group operates, or has under development, 14 Residences at Mandarin Oriental connected to its properties.
